Band Name: Nebula
Target Audience demographic:
What is their age range? What other music do they listen to? What other interests might they have? What style of clothing do they wear?
Age rage is of 18-30 and typically female. They would usually listen to quite a range of music but usually: Pop, RnB and Rap. Fashion would be of another huge interest to them and taking care of their appearance, also celebrity gossip and being in on the latest trends. They would probably be keen party goers who like to live a little on the edge just like the girls within the band. The girls within the band all have a distinct style but all remain hugely fashionable so the target audience would be girls who dress similar to this and aspire to be like the girls in the band.
Imagery and colour schemes:
What images are likely to appear on the front cover? (Would the sugar babes use a picture of an eagle eating worms out of a rotting skull?) Should you expect to see darker colours, bright colours, pastels or black and whites?
Images of attractive and stylish girls are likely to appear to make the target audience feel inferior to the girls and buy the album to be more like them; it would make sense to have the actual band on the cover. As the girls are quite sexy and quite misbehaving I expect the cover to be black and white to not only reflect these ideas but to also make it stand out against other pop music covers as being a little different.
Type Face/ Font styles:
What type faces have you found that could be appropriate? Which ones would be way off the mark?
I’m extremely keen on using the font impact label as it is frequently used in high-street stores which would coincide with the idea that the girls are extremely fashionable. Also it is black and white which would keep it in with the colour scheme. It’s quite bold as well which would also reflect the band member’s personalities. Any others I have looked at like Edwardian script wouldn’t work very well and would probably look a lot better on a classical artists album cover as it is more of a classic style of writing.
